- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and black pepper.
- Form into 6–8 oval-shaped patties and set aside while preparing the gravy.
- Brown patties in an oven-safe skillet for 3–4 minutes per side until golden; remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions in butter. Add flour and stir for 2 minutes.
- Whisk in beef broth and heavy cream until smooth.
- Nestle patties into the gravy, cover tightly, and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes. Then uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
