Description
This Instant Pot Dulce de Leche recipe is an easy, one-ingredient caramel made by pressure cooking sweetened condensed milk until thick, rich, and golden—perfect for desserts, drinks, or spooning straight from the jar.
Ingredients
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
1. Remove label and glue from the can of condensed milk.
2. Place a trivet in the Instant Pot and set the unopened can on top.
3. Add water until the can is fully submerged by at least 1 inch.
4. Seal the pot and pressure cook on high for 20–40 minutes depending on desired consistency.
5. Let pressure release naturally for 40–45 minutes.
6. Carefully remove the can using tongs and let it cool completely (at least 2–3 hours or overnight).
7. Once fully cooled, open and use or store in an airtight container.
Notes
Cook for 20 minutes for light sauce, 30 for medium, or 40 for thick and rich.
Always allow natural pressure release and full cooling before opening the can.
Store opened dulce de leche in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
